BURMA: take action now!

UNA-UK was one of the organisations which supported a major march and rally in London on Saturday, 6 October to demand international action on Burma.

If you were unable to join the march - don't worry. You can still take action. Here are some ways you can get involved:

 

1. Write to your MP:  
 
  • stating outrage at the military regime’s violent suppression of the protests
  • expressing the need to demonstrate solidarity with the Burmese people and monks
  • requesting concerted and sustained international action to secure the release of all political prisoners held by the regime
  • demanding effective and timely action by the UN Security Council

  2. Sign the Avaaz petition:

The petition urges the Chinese President and the UN Security Council to oppose the violent crackdown on the demonstrators, and to support genuine reconciliation and democracy. Click here to sign up.

 
 

3. Join the international Facebook group:
