Volunteering at UNA-UK:
UNA-UK greatly values the contribution of volunteers. We particularly welcome applications from individuals who combine an interest in the UN with practical skills that can help us facilitate our advocacy work and outreach to our membership, the media and our youth and student and young professionals networks. We strive to ensure that all volunteers benefit from their time with UNA-UK, through exposure to key UN issues and opportunities for development arising from practical experience at a leading NGO.
Essential Information:
- We are not the UN and cannot help you with attaining an internship at the UN.
- UNA-UK is based entirely in the UK. All internships are based in our office in London and we cannot place volunteers abroad.
- We do not offer work experience placements.
- While we welcome applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds, our interns are generally university graduates or postgraduates.
- UNA-UK internships are unpaid.
- UNA-UK internships generally entail a commitment of 3 days per week, for at least 3 months.
- Exceptional writing skills are an essential requirement for all UNA-UK internships. We also particularly welcome applications from individuals with experience of HTML or webpage editing software.
Applying:
For advertised internships, please follow the relevant instructions on how to apply.
When no specific internships are being advertised, UNA-UK will accept applications for volunteer positions on a rolling basis throughout the year. But we regret that we cannot respond to all individuals who have submitted applications. Only successful applicants will be contacted and invited to an informal interview at our offices.
For ad-hoc internhips please send your CV along with a covering letter including details of your avaliability to UNA-UK's Head of Advocacy, Veronica Lie, on lie (at) una.org.uk
